rapidea ® Ecological Island - Smart City and their Infrastructure

Smart islands or ecological islands are a sustainable contribution to the protection and regeneration of the ecological system and the climate and also meet general social demands for the use of land. Even in relatively densely built-up urban areas, as shown by the example of Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin (see sketch above), these innovative ecological islands consisting of six sub-areas can be realized: The redesign of an airport operation that has a lasting impact on the environment (13) into an ecological island that is sustainable and protects the environment, with a self-contained lake (1) and natural area (2), with cultivation options for fruit, vegetables, spices and other plants in high-bay plantations on a ring area (3), with the rearing of edible fish on a ring area (4) in symbiosis with the high-bay plantations on (3), with new waterways/canals (10) and (11) between the ring area (5) and the existing waterway network (12), (14), with unsealed green areas (6) as park with hiking trails (9), children's playgrounds (fountain complex (7), climbing tower (8)), underground event rooms (7) and (8) as well as with optimal connecting areas, paths, buildings and production facilities to the rest of the city’s infrastructure has a positive effect on the climate and the ecological system.
