rapidea ® Ecological Island - Smart City and their Infrastructure

When planning in urban areas and on open land, demands for environmentally friendly solutions should always be given a much higher weighting than other demands. Areas that become available for new planning could be designed with a forward-looking weighting in such a way that, particularly in the core areas of cities, instead of planning roads, parking lots, residential, commercial or other buildings, factories and leisure facilities, ecological islands are created there. These islands should, as shown by the example of Tempelhofer Feld (1) in Berlin (see sketch above), fulfil the following: From an airport operation that has a lasting impact on the environment (1) to a natural area that is left to itself and protects the environment in a sustainable way (5), to new waterways (3) with connections to the existing waterway network (7, 8), to cultivation options for fruit, vegetables, spices and other plants in high-bay plantations (6), to the rearing of food fish (4) in symbiosis with the high-bay plantations, to unsealed areas, to green areas with trees, to hiking trails, to children's playgrounds, to undergroundstorage and event rooms (2) and to the optimal connection of the areas, paths, buildings and production facilities to the rest of the city's infrastructure.
